Management
Moses
Ma,
Founder and CEO
Moses founded Bizbots in June, 1997, to develop intelligent marketware
and to promote new standards for e-commerce. Prior to Bizbots, Moses was
CEO of Velocity, leading computer-game publishing company. Moses built
the uncapitalized startup into the seventh fastest-growing and eleventh
most profitable software publisher. His diverse background spans academia,
science, philosophy, business and business theory. In addition to designing
several successful software products, Moses has developed a next-generation
one-to-one direct marketing system; patented a technology for overcoming
network delay latencies over the Internet; and designed an intelligent
agent-based war simulation for the U.S. Air Force.
Moses co-authored
several Internet standards proposals, including with IBM
Universal Avatars. Moses obtained a B.S. in theoretical physics
with a minor in Eastern religion and philosophy from California
Institute of Technology. He was a doctoral candidate in theoretical physics
at the University of California at Santa Cruz.
Les Shinozawa,
Chief Financial Officer
In addition to being the CFO, Les also serves as the Vice President
of Operations. For 10 years, he worked as CFO for Cellular One
a $500M joint venture partnership between AT&T Wireless and AirTouch
Communications. Les also served as its Acting CEO for one year. Prior
to that, Les held senior positions with PacTel Cellular and Itel Corporation's
Container Leasing Division. He began his career at Xerox Corp., after
earning an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School of Business. Les received
a BA in English Literature from University of Colorado.
David
Ewing, Chief Operating Officer
After participating as Technology Advisor for some time, David has
assumed the position of Chief Operating Officer of Bizbots. A seasoned
veteran of the e-business industry, he brings a wealth of experience and
knowledge.
In addition
to his role at Bizbots, David is also the President of his own company,
D.R. Ewing & Associates, a provider of executive and information-system
consulting services. Before starting his own firm, he served as Senior
Vice President of Systems and CIO of E*TRADE Group, where he took the
company through it's initial start-up phase, a successful IPO, and beyond.
Prior to that, he was Director of Information Systems at Nellcor Puritan
Bennett from 1990 to 1994. He has also served as a manager in the information
technology practice at Price Waterhouse and as a manager in the information
systems division of Charles Schwab.
Elaine
Teoh, Vice President, Engineering
Before joining Bizbots, Elaine was VP of Development at BigWords,
a leading e-commerce and destination site for the 18-24 year old demographic.
At BigWords, she was responsible for the design, delivery and support
of both the front-end website and back-end systems.
Prior to
BigWords, Elaine managed PeopleSoft's Web Technologies Group, which delivered
products critical to the company's e-business strategy. She also spent
six years at Oracle where she moved up the technical ranks to become a
Principal Engineer before going into management.
Elaine holds
a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.
Julie
Stevenson, Vice President, Business Development, Sales and Marketing
For the past two years, Julie has been an independent Management and
IT Consultant. Before pursuing a consulting path, she worked most recently
as the Director of IT for Nellcor Puritan Bennett, where she managed global
enterprise and distributed systems. During the nine years at Nellcor Puritan
Bennett, she also held various management positions, including several
management roles in the IT organization and Professional Services Manager
in the HealthCare Information Systems Division. Prior to Nellcor Puritan
Bennett, Julie held IT management positions at Castle and Cooke and financial
positions at Xerox Corporation. Julie holds a BS in Business Administration
and an MBA with a concentration in Computer Information Systems.
Harvey
Stone, Ph.D, Vice President, Marketing
Harvey comes to Bizbots after successfully running his own communications
and event-design company for l5 years. During that time, his executive
clients included Adobe, Apple, AT&T, Hewlett Packard, Motorola, Palm,
Sun and many others. He has also taught in the MBA program at the University
of California at Berkeley, and he has consulted with Harvard University's
Graduate School of Education. Harvey brings a deep background in the business,
technology and infrastructure trends that will shape the market and determine
the success of companies in the next 10 years.
